What is the AVID Academy?

The AVID Academy is a soccer program dedicated to the development of coed youth players in the U-8 (2017) and U-7 (2018) age groups, with U-6 players considered on a case-by-case basis. Our goal is to form teams within the Academy for each gender and birth-year while ensuring age-appropriate groupings. Training will follow the Academy’s structured curriculum, blending team-based and skill-focused activities. The developmental program emphasizes core skills such as dribbling, turning, passing, receiving, and running with the ball. These skills are reinforced through small-sided drills and inter-academy scrimmages. The Academy environment is designed to be fun, supportive, and engaging, fostering a love for the game in every player.

When is the Academy?

The AVID Academy runs for five months, from January through May. During the semester, players will attend two 75- to 90-minute sessions per week, totaling around 25 training sessions. Friendlies and/or tournaments against other clubs will also be organized and offered to participants.

Is there a fee for the Academy?

Players accepted into the AVID Academy will pay a monthly tuition fee of $30, which covers equipment, a ball, and insurance. The fee is paid via the club’s mobile app using a credit card. In addition to the monthly fee, players will be required to purchase a match kit, training jersey, and pinnie.

Is the AVID Academy right for my soccer player?

The AVID Academy is not meant to replace or compete with existing recreational programs. It is designed for families and players who are passionate about soccer development, eager to pursue club soccer, and ready to take their skills to the next level. These players and families are committed to training in a structured environment with Academy staff.
