History
AVID Soccer Club was established in early winter 2019, following the unexpected dissolution of a local soccer organization. This left many families and players without a team to call home. What began as an effort by a group of dedicated parents to form a registered independent team for their children quickly evolved into something greater. Their goal was not only to continue playing competitively but to create a player-focused environment that emphasized personal growth and a meaningful soccer experience beyond the game.
As the team took shape, it became clear that other like-minded teams in the area shared this vision. This collective passion led to the formation of AVID Soccer Club. The founding group soon drafted a mission and vision, and an original Board of Directors was established along with the club’s foundational principles and by-laws.
Within a few months, AVID was officially recognized as an affiliate club by the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association. From the start, AVID has been driven by a business model that values dedicated, trained volunteers as essential to the club’s success—fostering player development, building strong teams, and delivering an exceptional soccer experience for all.
