History
The AVID Soccer Club was founded in the early winter of 2019 after an established local club dissolved leaving its players and families without an organized club to play under. The founding members of AVID Soccer Club originally set out to continue with a registered independent team for their own children. The vision of this team was to provide opportunities for individual player development with a focus on an experience that went beyond competitive soccer. Soon after laying the foundation of this individual team, it was soon obvious that there were several other like-minded teams in the area that wanted to collectively work towards this vision. Quickly the founders started roughing out a mission and vision for what became the AVID Soccer Club.
An original Board of Directors was created and the club’s founding principals and by-laws were established. In a few short months, the club was accepted as an affiliate club with the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association and began following a business model that acknowledged dedicated, trained volunteers were tantamount to the clubs’ success in developing players, and teams, and providing the value and experience the club expected.
