Disney’s Presidents’ Day cup was full of elite competition at the U10 level that was displayed in our opening match against group winner Elite Soccer Academy (FL). Even though we lost, the Talons adjusted during the match and finished the last 15 min scoreless. The following match against FD football Club (FL) was a different game that was played mostly in the midfield. Another team loss we continued to adapt. Our final game against Miami Breakers FC (FL) was a great game that showed our development and resilience throughout the cup. This time we had a higher possession rate, while keeping the ball in the attacking third for much of the game. Free kicks, and set plays accounted for most of the scoring opportunities that we had to defend. I truly believe the last two games could’ve gone either way on any given day. The ball just didn’t fall our way. We had a great experience. Learning from our losses, picking ourselves up, and now getting back to the training ground to work harder.
