WVU 4v4 Breast Cancer Tournament Recap

WVU 4v4 Breast Cancer Tournament Recap

The WVU Women’s Soccer 4-Versus-4 Breast Cancer Tournament is an annual event welcoming three-person teams from the community to sign up and play with a Mountaineer athlete at the WVU Soccer facilities in Morgantown. This unique and fun event was held on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

The 4v4 tournament, which aims to increase awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, has helped WVU Women’s Soccer donate more than $150,000 to the WVU Cancer Institute Betty Puskar Breast Care Center over the past 15 years.

AVID has been supporting this event for years and this year The Pride 2012 Boys entered six teams with three of the teams placing in the 5th and 6th grade brackets and the Crush 2015 Girls entered five teams.

The WVU 4v4 event was an incredible success. I am grateful that we were able to contribute to this charitable cause while providing the opportunity for the boys to grow, develop, and have fun.

Our entire Crush team attended the WVU 4×4 challenge today. The format is unique and fun and fast paced. It was a great experience for all of our girls that provided good competition and some mentoring and coaching from a WVU women’s soccer player. We will definitely try to attend this on an annual basis!
