AVID’s first 4v4 inter-club event was born from a spirit of support and unity. When one of our teams faced the disappointment of a cancelled event, AVID teams came together to make something special happen. We are incredibly proud of the collaboration and effort that went into organizing this event to ensure every player had a memorable experience. The AVID 4v4 tournament was truly an amazing day for our club! This first ever inter-team tournament was about skill development, building leadership skills, and individual soccer growth in small sided games. The tournament was modeled after the WVU Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament that takes place in Morgantown, WV each March. Teams were composed of one Pride player and three to four younger girls players.

The AVID Pride 2012 boys team has adopted the Kansas City Legends training style which promotes the use of specific soccer skills to take on defenders in small spaces. This environment was the perfect opportunity for them to utilize their skills and challenge them into becoming brave creative leaders for life. Serving as role models and “coaches” for each individual team these boys had an opportunity to shine.

The AVID Blaze 2016 girls and AVID Crush 2015 girls team were combined and divided into evenly balanced teams. The girls had the opportunity to showcase their footwork and challenge their individual skill development while focusing on small touches.

The positive environment created by uniting club teams allowed for encouraging support from parents and teammates in a competitive environment that helped create lasting memories!
