The AVID Rangers have been supporting Team GIA in the annual Hooley plunge for the past three years! Each year, the team has exceeded their goal in funds raised and in participation from team members. This year the team raised the most to date, raising over $3200 benefiting the Special Olympics of Allegany County & Other Developmentally Disabled Programs with over 30 participants! By participating in this event the team has learned about advocating for the rights of children and adults with disabilities while promoting understanding and support of this special community. Not only have the players found this to be a great team building experience, but they are also proud to make a positive impact on their community. Activism and volunteering help build character and confidence, while instilling traits of resilience, gratitude, humility, compassion and service. We are so proud of the team and their continued support of Team GIA and the Hooley Plunge! Additionally, we are proud to share that the AVID Talons joined the plunge for the first time this year and successfully raised $365. We are AVID!!!
