Welcome 2016 Teams

Welcome to the 2016 birth year teams joining the AVID family! We’re thrilled to introduce the AVID Avengers 2016 boys and AVID Blaze 2016 girls, both featuring rosters composed of players and coaches who have been part of the AVID Academy for the past two years.

Leading the AVID Avengers boys is Head Coach Daniel Peterson, supported by Team Manager Rachel McGann and Assistant Coaches Randy McGann and Ricky Stevenson. Coach Peterson commended the boys’ remarkable dedication during their time in the AVID Academy, expressing excitement for them to apply their acquired skills on the travel soccer field. He emphasized their eagerness to compete, highlighting their exemplary commitment to mastering the game. The AVID Avengers 2016 boys are assembled and ready for battle!

Meanwhile, the AVID Blaze girls are under the guidance of Head Coach Lynn Sipes, assisted by Team Manager Jen Scritchfield and Assistant Coach Garrett Smith. Coach Sipes expressed enthusiasm for the launch of this new AVID club team for 2016 girls, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to unite the players and forge a resilient, unified team poised for future success.

Fundraising Coordinator Announcement

The AVID Board of Directors is pleased to introduce Sasha Leasure as the new Fundraising and Sponsorship Coordinator for the club. Sasha will play a crucial role in organizing fundraisers and collaborating with community sponsors to support the club’s initiatives. With her extensive experience in various organizations, Sasha is eager to contribute to the growth and success of the AVID Club and Teams.

Outside of her new role with AVID, Sasha is a real estate agent at Coldwell Banker Premier. When she’s not busy with work, she enjoys traveling and tending to her garden. Sasha and her husband, Blaine, along with their two daughters, Berkley and Spencer call Frostburg their home. Berkley is a proud member of AVID Crush.

Apparel Coordinator Announcement

AVID Soccer Club is pleased to introduce Lindsay Thomas as our Apparel Coordinator. This new position will cater to the apparel needs of our players, team management, volunteers, and fans for each club season. Lindsay will collaborate with our partner vendors regarding uniform stock availability, web stores, and apparel issues. Lindsay will also coordinate distribution of orders to all AVID programming. She works closely with our designer to curate stylish apparel and designs. Lindsey resides in Frostburg with her husband, Justin and her two daughters, Laylin and Kaelin. She is a teacher at Mount Savage Elementary School. We are thrilled to have Lindsay as a member of our AVID Coordinator team. Her positive attitude, exceptional organizational skills, and strong team-oriented nature will undoubtedly keep the club looking fabulous!
