The AVID Soccer Club Board of Directors would like to announce some changes to the membership. We would like to thank Mr. Ben Brauer for his years of dedicated service to our club. Brauer has decided not to pursue another term in his role as club Vice President and head coach of our Royals team. He was a charter member of our Board and a key contributor to the launch and continued success of our club. We thank Ben for his devotion to our players, families, and club, and wish him the best in the future.

With the departure of Mr. Ben Brauer, the Board of Directors has met to make appointments to fill this vacancy. Mr. Jason Mowbray, the current Board Secretary, has been appointed as the Board Vice President. To fill the vacancy of Secretary, the Board has voted to appoint Mrs. Stacey Huffman, of Keyser, West Virginia.

Stacey brings years of experience to our Board, including years of involvement with the Potomac Highlands Soccer League. As Board Secretary, Stacey will be responsible for documenting all of the Board meetings and work sessions, documenting the annual club meeting, and coordinating communication and scheduling throughout the club. President Colby Ellsworth said, “Stacey will bring new energy to our Board and years of experience. She is an organized and thoughtful person who will help deliver the high-level standard we expect at AVID”.

Each year, Board members’ terms are renewed by vote at the club’s annual membership meeting. This meeting occurs in the fall and is attended by representatives of each of our travel teams and developmental programs. Currently, the Board is made up of President Colby Ellsworth, Vice President Jason Mowbray, Secretary Stacey Huffman, Treasurer Samantha Isom, Director-at-large Dave Neff, and Director-at-large Lee Beeman.
